pressure.
i was very excited tto see that i had over one hundred views on my blog yesterday. however i am now feeling under pressure to produce some more work for my new found audience. be patient! new photographs are on the way…keep looking.
Visa pour l’image Perpignan
on august 29th i embarked on a journey to the Visa pour l’image photojournalism festival in Perpignan (hence the lack of blogging). the old city is filled to the brim with amazing exhibitions from the likes of Stanley Greene, Yuri Kozyrev, Brent Stirton and many, many others. during professionals week, there are talks, debates and evening screenings showing the best work around.
my favourite exhibitions were, Inside Iraq by Yuri Koryzev and China: The Return of the Concubine by Axelle de Russe who won the Canon Female Photojournalist Award 2007. check out Greene and Koryzev’s work on the Noor Agency website: http//www.noorimages.com
i cannot choose a favourite moment/exhibition/screening or talk, however meeting Stanley Greene and hearing Horst Faas talk about his experiences in Vietnam was pretty amazing.
if you can get accreditation for professionals week or are just interested in photojournalism, i would recommend Perpignan more than anything.
